We have our first minor point release to version 7 live and available to all current users now.
Initially it was going to be a quick maintenance release, but as we kept working, we ended up finding and fixing FOUR bugs instead of just the one. We also added a number of enhancements and minor improvements to the game. Here is the complete list of everything that has changed from 7.0.32 to 7.01.01:
Enhancements
- Add a separate volume control for the reading out of questions and their answers
- Added proper scoring sound effects for elven music track 1 (“On the journey”)
- Updated visualisations and effects in Statistics screen. Use better font for grid and Top Challenges list. Adjust list sizing for Top Challenges. Adjust highlight effect in the questions grid when a Top Challenge is clicked on.
- Adjusted horse hoof sounds for canter, so they sound more natural (and less annoying)
- Make answer box prettier and use a nicer font
- Add fanfare and appearance effect to the New Music Unlocked dialog that appears when a quest is first mastered with 100% quest mastery.
Bug Fixes
- Fix problem where the wrong score may be displayed if a second question is answered before the previous question’s score arrives at the top of the riding screen
- Fixed invalid help URL for online help
- Corrected invalid readout and display for division by zero in Statistics screen
- Make sure improvement arrow gets sized and shown correctly the very first time one is displayed in Statistics screen
Minor changes
- Some animations didn’t stop gracefully when the screen was changed or a riding realm is loaded Adjusted the positioning of the obstacle in Desert realm relative to the horse
- Hide tooltip in post-riding overlay whenever an illustration panel is showing, so the two don’t overlay each other
- Wrap saving of game stats after each ride in a database transaction to guard against data corruption in case of power-out or similar in the middle of saving
- Fade music out faster when user exists riding mid-way through
- Changed the label “Human” to “Desert” in Music Selection screen since that is what it’s called in the quest progress maps
- Visual and positioning logic updates for improved Illustration dialogs, mainly for end-of-ride overlay, but also in statistics screen
- Updated audio files for tens results. Especially the “60” was sounding more like a “6”
- Updated the xxx-teen result audio files as well (e.g. “13”, “14”, “15”, etc)
- Further refined question readout audio by reducing gaps and pauses, making them sound more fluid
- Reduced width of illustration box for multiplication by zero (box was made wider for balls when operands > 8, even though no balls needed to be shown)
- Updates for Music Selection screen element sizing and positioning
- Added updated and higher quality realm background screenshots in Music Selection screen
- Update sky backgrounds to higher quality in all riding environments
- Standardise the darkening of the screen background to 90% for all pop-up dialogs
- Various minor tweaks and code clean-up
