We are super excited to announce MathRider version 7.3, bringing a host of improvements, fixes, and exciting new visuals and effects to enhance your gameplay experience.
We think you will agree that the game play experience is significantly more motivating and fun than ever before.
After releasing version 7.2 with the huge AI update (mastery detection and question generation), version 7.3 was all about increasing the gameplay experience itself.
Our goal was to make riding through the MathRider realms visually much more appealing than before and also much more varied. We also wanted to give players a better sense of progression as they make their way through the realms.

New Features and Enhancements:
- Complete Visual Overhaul of Riding Environments: All riding realms have received a complete visual overhaul, with improved textures, 3D parallax effects, and enhanced environment depth. Enjoy massively more varied, dynamic and immersive rides as you journey through the various realms on your noble MathRider quests. We essentially replaced every non-background graphic in the game, and added about four times the variety per riding realm.
- Riding through a realm is no longer repetitive: With the added riding environments, players no longer face repeating lands. Instead, players get a real sense of actually progressing through the various realms they are traveling through.
- Enhanced Horse Speed Effects: Reaching top riding speed is now a completely different experience, as our horse causes bigger and bigger dust clouds, until it is so fast that sparks are starting to fly…
- Replaced Obstacle Visuals and Appear Animations: Every obstacle across all riding realms has been redesigned for better appeal and better matching to their respective environments. We also reinvented how the obstacles appear, completely removing the old “bounce in” effect.
- End-of-Ride Results: The bar graph at the end of each ride now features icons that clearly indicate whether a question has been mastered, improved, worsened, or missed, providing much clearer feedback on your performance. This also allows players to identify the questions they struggled with, making it easier to commit them to memory.
- Clear indication of improvement and mastery at the end of every ride: At the end of each ride, questions you have mastered or improved on trigger an enhanced fireworks display. We’ve enhanced the effects, so that the meaning of the Fireworks are clear. They now distinguish between mastered and improved, adding a satisfying visual reward and encouragement for progress.
- Dynamic Difficulty Adjustments: We’ve fine-tuned the automatic challenge factor adjustment. The game now only reduces it when the player’s mastery is below 97.5%. This ensures players get to really refine and master those final tricky math facts in all the time they need, while players who naturally struggle a little with their facts recall will have still be able to reach mastery at a level that is right for them.
- Widescreen Display Support: MathRider now supports ultra-wide screen displays with display aspect ratios up to 4:1.
Bug Fixes:
- Fixed Hang in Practice Ride: Resolved an issue where practice rides could hang if no other rides were completed previously.
- Quest Score Display Issue Fixed: Corrected a high score rounding issue where scores between 99.5% and 99.99% were incorrectly displayed as 100%.
- Obstacle and Horse Jump Logic Fixes: Addressed issues with obstacle jumps and improved the timing logic, ensuring smoother gameplay, especially for ultra-fast answers in quick succession.
- Performance Improvements: Completely reimplemented riding environment animation logic, making it more flexible and improving its performance. Cleaned up and removed unused assets, removed unneeded logging and optimised key areas of the program for a more efficient game experience.
- Many other minor tweaks and fixes
We hope you enjoy these new features and improvements as you continue your journey to mastering math facts in MathRider version 7.3. Happy riding!
